Michelle Winkley has 21 years working in all facets of HR. She was drawn to HR while working her first job as a teenager noticing the mix of business strategy and people motivation. Michelle worked as an internal HR professional and leader for 17 years for both large corporations and small start-ups including AIG, PwC, Spot Runner, and MySpace. In a turn of events Michelle was asked to consult for a small company and talent distinctions was born. Michelle has extensive experience in building awesome corporate cultures, HR processes that drive business results, building recruiting functions and of course compliance. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Human Resources. Michelle is an adjunct professor and speaker. Michelle is a founding member of Bad Ass Boxes, a charity that to provide additional supplies of essential items to Special Operations troops deployed in the most austere locations around the world. These care packages help them meet the rigorous demands of their deployment and helps them feel connected to home.
Colleen Lauria is a strategic, successful and “human” Human Resources executive. Through skilled leadership and flexibility she has contributed to the expansion of entrepreneurial and complex organizations like iVillage, DraftFCB and Hogarth Worldwide.
Colleen’s expertise lies in identifying talent and developing HR practices for companies in media, advertising and technology. She approaches every situation with gravitas and humor, allowing managers and employees to be themselves.
Colleen specializes in talent acquisition, employee relations and workforce planning. She is a subject matter expert and professional writer available for guest blogging and writing engagements in addition to traditional HR & Recruiting consulting. Colleen lives in the heart of NYC and is part of the growing community of New Yorkers trying to hold on to classic NY.

Ferrell has a uniquely rich career focused on building dynamic, high performing, loyal and compassionate employee cultures. She works closely with businesses to develop and successfully communicate their internal and external brand to employees and stakeholders. She develops dynamic programs focused on strategic communications, corporate social responsibility, HR training, performance development, and recruiting.
Before joining the Talent Distinctions team, Ferrell enjoyed a 20-year career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) where she was the Marketing, Alumni and Community Relations Leader for Southern California, Las Vegas and Phoenix. While at PwC, she took a four-year break in service to work at United Way of Greater Los Angeles as their VP of Major Gifts.
Ferrell is a passionate community volunteer and sits on the Board of Directors of L.A. Works, a volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
